It is important to diagnose COPD early to start treatment and minimize lung damage. Smoking cessation is a beneficial step for smokers with this condition. Screening involves a few questions and a spirometry test, which is a simple breathing test. The COPD program educates diagnosed patients about the disease, treatment options, lifestyle changes, inhaler techniques, action plans, and smoking cessation treatment.
