About this service
In November 2015, a group comprising members of our local community and parishioners of St. James Cathedral gathered in response to the Syrian refugee crisis and established the St. James and Community Refugee Committee.
Since that time, the committee has worked hard to contribute to the successful resettlement of refugees seeking to establish new lives in Canada. To date, it has sponsored and provided settlement support to a Syrian family of five, a father and daughter from Iran and a single female and her young son from Cameroon. The process is now underway for the sponsorship of the next refugee family. Please see the updates below on the families we have been supporting since the formation of the Committee.
