Advocacy is an essential part of SCAGOs work as the organization continues to improve the health outcome and strengthen the voice of families impacted by SCD in the province.SCAGO holds action days and reception events at the Ontario legislature in order to raise awareness of the disease among the policymakers. Among other achievements, through our advocacy work, the Ontario Drug Program approved life-saving drugs for the treatment of iron overload for all with SCD regardless of their financial status.
