What are POETs & FCEs? A Post-Offer Employment Test (POET) is an assessment that measures a persons functional abilities after an employer has made a job offer. To confirm if the job is the right fit functionally, the candidate must pass a series of job specific tests, this identifies whether they are physically capable of performing various tasks required for the specific job. A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a more detailed assessment that may compare a persons functional abilities to a specific job or to gather more general information on what level of physical demand is appropriate.
