About this service
We believe in keeping families together, so a mother and her children will never be asked to share their assigned room. We intake male children over the age of sixteen (16) years of age.
On arrival at the shelter you will be greeted by one or more of our Womens Advocates. You and your children will be offered refreshments, given a tour of the shelter, provided with basic care packages and shown to your assigned room. Once you and your children are settled, you will receive some additional information, designed to ensure your stay with us is a most comfortable one.
Within 72 hours of being at the shelter you will meet with your Primary Worker. This time is set aside for you to share necessary information and learn more about our services and the ways in which we can support you and your children, during this period of transition. At this meeting, with the support of your worker, you will begin the process of reestablishment one step at a time.
