About this service
DBT combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with mindfulness practice to help you learn how to identify and cope with your emotions, manage difficult situations, and build communication skills with family and friends. The DBT Skills curriculum at Stellas Place is evidence-based and was developed to follow the therapeutic model of DBT while flexibly incorporating trauma-informed principles and anti-oppressive/anti-racist perspectives.
Our DBT Skills and DBT BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Colour) programs consist of:
- A 10-week skills group
- 10-14 weeks of individual counselling, focused on applying DBT skills to the participants life and goals.
Participants must complete an intake session prior to joining the waitlist for this program. The current wait is estimated at 1.5 years (as of October 2021).
Who can use it?
Must be between the ages of 16-29 and live in Toronto (postal codes beginning with "M").
