CAMHs Psychiatric Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency psychiatric assessment and treatment for adults experiencing mental health and substance use crises. Located at the Queen Street site, the department offers extended observation, assessment, and treatment services, working in collaboration with hospital and community mental health services. No referral is required, and patients may be accompanied by family members or referred by healthcare providers, police, or social service agencies. The program does not provide crisis counseling over the phone, and individuals in immediate distress are encouraged to call 911 or visit their nearest emergency room.
