About this service
Youth who are homeless or trafficked often face challenges that make finding stable work difficult:
- A lack of positive adult role models
- Low self-confidence
- Undiagnosed or previously untreated learning disabilities and/or mental health issues
For youth at Covenant House, our job centre is a first step to finding stable, meaningful work.
At the job centre, we work one-on-one with youth to provide career coaching, resume building, interview advice, job placements and a strong confidence boost to help youth build the necessary skills to explore their employment options.
There are also some special touches for that added boost of confidence:
- Young people can access professional attire through the job centre clothing bank.
- We have an employment counsellor who is also a barber and gives haircuts to youth before job interviews.
