About this service
The CAITS is a medically managed, intensive inpatient treatment service for patients needing stabilization of addiction and concurrent mental health disorders.
This service is intended to prepare patients for further treatment at CAMH or in the community.
CAITS provides addiction assessment and intervention through an interprofessional team composed of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, social workers and other therapists. Patients are admitted for a maximum of 10 to 14 days and have access to evening and weekend programming (as well as day programming).
The CAITS service works on a referral basis, receiving referrals from CAMHs Medical Withdrawal Service or other CAMH services, as well as from withdrawal management and residential treatment services in the community.
