About this service
COVID-19 UPDATE: The program is ongoing and has operated four days a week since April, serving about 500 meals per week:
- AccessPoint on Danforth, 3079 Danforth Avenue East, Every Tuesday and Friday from 1-2 p.m.
- AccessPoint on Jane, 761 Jane Street, Every Monday and Thursday from 3-4 p.m.
Access Alliance knows that food insecurity is caused by poverty and that it has significant impacts on health outcomes. We also know that 82% of reported patients in Toronto Community Health Centers fall into the two lowest quintiles for income (65% in the lowest). For this reason, our food insecurity initiatives invest resources into everything from short-term relief strategies for clients who do not have enough money to buy food to research and projects targeting structural and systemic change.
