About this service

CHAMP IN ACTION (C.I.A.) is a health promotion program which aims to reduce HIV associated stigma through structured experiential group learning and to enhance the communitys capacity to mobilize against systemic barriers to social determinants of health through social justice causes.

The C.I.A. Program is based on results of the CHAMP Research Study, which was shown to be effective in reducing HIV and mental health stigma, increase community support, and promote action against discrimination and social injustices in people living with HIV and allies from racialized communities.

CHAMP IN ACTION (C.I.A.) is a program funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada and delivered by the CHAMP Alliance, which is made up of the following ethno-racial AIDS service organizations: Committee for Accessible AIDS Treatment (CAAT), Asian Community AIDS Services (ACAS), Africans in Partnership Against AIDS, the Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention and the Centre for Spanish Speaking Peoples.
