About this service
With the services of highly qualified EMDR therapists, you are in good hands at CAST Clinical Services. If you are looking to rid yourself of any kind of trauma or PTSD, EMDR is an effective treatment.Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy does not rely on medication or on getting the client to talk on and on about the problem he/she has that is causing distress. Rather, during an EMDR session, the client will be asked to focus on certain things in her/his mind and then the therapist will use alternating eye movements, sounds or taps. Healing with EMDR typically takes just a few sessions to see dramatic positive effects. EMDR, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviours resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process. EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain.
