About this service
ABL. provides 24-hour attendant services to adults with physical disabilities living in the Complex. In order to promote independent living the following on-site services are offered:
- bathing/washing and toileting
- bowel and bladder care
- rising from / retiring to bed
- dressing/undressing
- mobility assistance / transferring
- meal preparation / feeding
- laundry assistance and light housekeeping
Each tenant is encouraged to develop his/her ability towards a goal of maximizing their independence. The attendant care program allows tenants to be active participants in community life. Tenants are encouraged to pursue employment, continuing education and recreation opportunities both within and outside of the Complex.
These client services are funded 100% through the Ministry of Health Long Term Care Division. With support from Canada Mortgage and Housing and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing 506 Lonergan was officially opened in 1984.
