St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church

St. Andrew's Presbyterian is an active, urban ministry working from a beautiful historic building. We explore faith and justice, serve our community and beyond, and support stewardship of the natural world. We are blessed with a splendid facility graced with a magnificent pipe organ and lit by glorious stained glass windows, both modern and traditional. This impressive structure helps to nourish the spirit, inspiring and energizing us to do Christ's work beyond the walls.

What We Do Serving with others who share your interests is a great way to make a difference in your own life. St. Andrew's offers many opportunities to live out the values of your faith and become a force for good in our community and beyond. Feel free to check out these projects and see where your interests may lie. Baby Food Pyramid Baby Food Pyramid destined for the Food Bank Shelter House Financial and food donations as well as regular fundraisers, such as sale of our famous (and awesome) shepherd's pies, help to support the valuable work of Shelter House. Food Bank The congregation shows unfailing generosity through regular collection and delivery of non-perishables, as well as special baby food and college/university drives. Local women's shelters and other local charities Every year a special Christmas tree serves as a reminder of the needs of more vulnerable members of our community. Under that tree a great pile of gifts appears, gifts to lift the spirits of clients of the Faye Peterson Transition House and Beendigen, as well as the Elizabeth Fry Society. St. Andrew's also provides financial support with contributions to the Thunder Bay Christmas Cheer fund, Children's Aid Society hampers and the Underground Gym. New well at Victory Chapel School in Liberia Children and community in Liberia celebrate new well donated by St. Andrew's and built by Lifewater Lifewater Canada This local organization continues to be a focus for our international assistance efforts, as they provide safe drinking water, education, employment and latrines in Liberia, Haiti and Kenya. And they accomplish all of this with negligible overhead and administrative costs! Refugees and newcomers Action Rfugis Montral receives donations for reading materials and assistance for refugees and new immigrants to Canada. Presbyterian World Service and Development The congregation responds to needs throughout the world through regular donations as well as campaigns targeting crises as they arise. Canadian Food Grains Bank As a supporter of the Canadian Food Grains Bank, St. Andrew's joins other churches in addressing global hunger in many ways, providing food in crisis situations, improving food production strategies and educating people in Canada and abroad. Action on climate change The congregation expresses a determination to be good stewards of this earth by moving to green energy with installation of solar panels for reduced dependence in fossil fuels. And many other projects - local, national and international. The list is limited only by need in the world and willing hands to help.
