About this service
Docs by the Bay is an initiative established in 2017 as a partnership between the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation and the City of Quinte West, with the Municipality of Brighton joining in 2019. The program focuses on the recruitment and retention of family physicians in Quinte West and serves a total population of 56,000. It coordinates medical education opportunities for medical students and residents, recruits new physicians via job fairs, a database of potential prospects, and various outreach programs. It also supports the current physicians in maintaining local health services. The City of Quinte West recently purchased a medical building to facilitate the program further. Residents in need of a family physician can register with the Health Care Connect service administered by the Province of Ontario.
