Stocks are replenished by monetary donations, community food drives held by schools, clubs, churches and businesses, supplies from local producers and farmers, as well as individual grocery contributions.
Recipients of food apply for and are registered for Food Bank services. Clients are residents of Prince Edward County and can come in once a month for a 3-5 day supply of food.
When possible we provide fresh vegetables and fruit, eggs, milk, and some meat. As well as food, we distribute basic personal and household products.
There is also a small selection of clothing, books, toys and household goods available and we provide information to help people find other needed services and help.
The Food Bank, located at the Picton United Church, is open to existing and new clients on Friday mornings from 9:00 am until 11:30 am. The phone number is 613 476-8516.
