About this organization

The Refuge is a charitable Christian organization that works with homeless and street youth in the Region of Durham and provides food, clothing, personal hygiene products, parenting programs, life direction programs, art programs, laundry facilities, and shower facilities. The one thing they strive most to provide is a sense of community in which the homeless youth can heal from their past. Forest Brook has helped them financially, through volunteering in their kitchen, and through providing a monthly meal to their youth. We have also hosted fundraisers and participated in the "Coldest Night of the Year", the Durham Marathon. Each year we collect mittens and cold weather accessories to be donated at our annual "Mitten Reception
