About this organization

We exist to provide help, hope and healing to individuals, couples and families, regardless of beliefs, through evidence based clinical therapy, psycho-educational counselling and support.

The agency has always provided services to the entire community, regardless of beliefs. Our desire is to stand in solidarity with those experiencing difficulties and assist them in their healing journey through individual, couple, family and group therapy, addressing a wide variety of presenting problems.

CFSD is accredited with the Canadian Centre for Accreditation, and is a member agency of Catholic Charities (funded by ShareLife) and United Way of Durham Region. We receive our core funding from these organizations and the Province of Ontario. The funding from the Province of Ontario assists over 1300 abused women and their families through our therapeutic programming.

Clients are asked to pay fees on a sliding scale, but no-one is ever denied service due to inability to pay.
