Helping Hands Orillia - Transitional Bed Service

As a stakeholder in our regional healthcare system, Helping Hands provides a Transitional Bed program. This important service offers 12 beds located in Orillia, Brechin and Coldwater, in support of clients who require temporary transitional support upon discharge from hospital, those who are deemed palliative, or those who simply need respite services for a period of time. These beds play an important role in supporting the healthcare system by providing hospitals with more flexibility in discharge destinations while providing clients with a comfortable, appropriate and supportive environment while they are recovering from surgery or while their permanent home environment is being prepared. These beds help to ensure clients in our community receive the right care, at the right time and in the right place and help provide a sustainable alternative to staying in the hospital.
