About this service
SHIP has two Assertive Community Treatment Teams (ACTT) that serve North Peel and North Mississauga respectively. Our teams help address the ongoing complex needs of individuals with a mental illness living in the community.
ACTT Teams are multi-disciplinary teams comprised of:
- Psychiatrists
- Psychiatric nurses
- Occupational therapists
- Social workers
- Peer support workers
- Addiction/Concurrent Disorder counsellors
- Vocational counsellors
- Mental health clinicians
These recovery-based teams provide community-based treatment, rehabilitation and support. Services are available 24 X 7, 365 days a year. The goals of SHIPs Assertive Community Treatment Teams (ACTT) are to empower individuals, reduce or eliminate the debilitating symptoms of mental illness, enhance quality of life and lessen family burden.
