About this service
Drug Court Initiative:
The Drug Treatment Court was established on June 29, 2010. This specialized program provides court supervised treatment for accused persons who have a serious drug addiction. The John Howard Society provides individual counselling, enhanced bail supervision services, and a weekly cognitive skills group which addresses criminogenic risk factors.
Gladue Court:
In collaboration with the Court and other community agencies and organizations, the John Howard Society supported the development of a Gladue Court in London which focuses on the unique needs of Aboriginal offenders. One of the Societys Native Services workers attends the court on a weekly basis.
