About this service
Medicine Wheel is a 12-step program that places Indigenous cultures and traditions at its core while utilizing a client-centered strength-based approach to healing. The program facilitates the rebuilding of First Nations identity by providing the resources for clients to learn about their cultures and traditions as a way of life. This reaffirming of cultural identity assists clients on their lifelong wellness journey. Teachings include but are not limited to: impacts of substance use, traditional healing, sweat lodges, coping with triggers, individual, family and group counselling, circles and support groups, traditional ceremonies and teachings, community referrals, coping with relapses, communication and life skills, stress management, anger management, and multidisciplinary plans of care to guide individuals unique healing path, including art, song, dance, nutrition and recreation.
