Parents Grieving the Death of an Infant

8-Week Program which typically runs twice a year - spring and fall dependent on the number of registrations. This group is for parents (individuals or couples) who have experienced: miscarriage/early pregnancy loss stillbirth termination of pregnancy infant or toddler death Everything changes after the death of your infant. It can be hard to cope with the overwhelming emotions you might be experiencing. Our 8-week group offers a safe space to connect with other grieving parents, to share your story and to support one another through your loss. This group is facilitated by trained volunteers who are bereaved parents themselves. Everyone in the group has experienced the death of their infant; you are not alone What you can expect: Our sessions include group discussion and topic-specific activities which explore different aspects of grief, such as: Coping with special days and memorializing Diversity in grief Changing relationships Returning to work Looking to the future There is no right way to grieve, there is only your way to grieve. Through our support groups we hope that you will experience personal growth and learn the tools for adapting to your new normal. These documents outline how our groups are organized and gives you information on the peer-support model Bereaved Families of Ontario-Midwestern Region uses. One-on-One Peer Support: Because our groups for bereaved parents run twice a year, one-on-one support acts as a monthly check-in before the next group starts. This support cannot be guaranteed as it depends on the availability of our peer support volunteers.
