About this service
Community Circles provide a chance for members of a group, workplace, or community to deepen or renew their connection with each other while discussing issues that are affecting them. Circle is not a platform for individual issues, but is a collective space for addressing community issues. Circle is a process that helps individuals have a voice within a group. The Circle Keeper guides the process. Together with the participants the Circle Keeper helps to identify Values and Guidelines to hold the container of the conversation. Guiding questions are asked by the Circle Keeper to explore participants thoughts, needs and feelings related to the topic. A talking piece is used to empower each person to speak to the question or to pass. The process is meant to be confidential and only what the participates agree to share is taken out of the circle For example, CJI offered our volunteers an opportunity to be in a circle to discuss how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected them.
