About this service
The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year and is for serious illnesses and injuries, such as severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, chest pains or pressure, trauma or injury to the head, sudden dizziness or difficulty seeing, and severe abdominal pain. In most cases, patients arrive by ambulance and some patients need to be admitted to the hospital for a longer stay.
