About this service
Volunteers deliver nourishing meals to people unable to cook or shop for themselves. The meals are prepared in government-inspected kitchens by volunteers or under contract between VON and commercial or institutional kitchens.
For residents who are unable to attend to their own nutritional needs, but wish to continue living independently in the community.
Volunteers are selected through a screening process and provide social contact as well as monitor the well-being of the recipient.
Maximum individual cost $6.25/meal. Hot or frozen meals may be
ordered. Fees adjusted according to ability to pay. Recipients are invoiced monthly.
