About this service
In August 2017, the Elliot Lake Womens Group Inc, also known as Maplegate House for Women, purchased a 5 bedroom house as a Second stage transition house, known as the Something More Lawrence House. The purpose behind the second stage house is to rent out rooms to women who have limited income or have incurred difficulties in finding places to rent.
The rent includes heat, hydro, laundry facilities, basic cable and phone and if communal areas are kept clean, unlimited internet will be provided. The Maplegate House Outreach worker will be working with all the women to ensure that they have access to the same programs and services as all the clients have while staying at Maplegate House for Women.
