The Deseronto Public Library was established as part of the Deseronto Mechanics Institute in 1885, and its management was assumed by the Deseronto Public Library Board on May 1, 1896. The Library Board is a governing board and a legal corporation with the authority to establish policy and govern the library under the Public Libraries Act, RSO 1990. The Deseronto Public Library Board aims to offer comprehensive and efficient public library services tailored to meet the unique needs of its community. The Library offers a variety of services and resources, conducts various programs and events, and maintains specific opening hours. It operates with a staff including a CEO, Library Assistant, On-Call Library Clerks, and a Summer Programs Coordinator, and is overseen by a board composed of a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and several board members.
