About this service

Reading for Health is a vocabulary building program that focuses on health topics. We cover topics like Healthy eating Nutrition Facts and Food Labels Canadas Food Guide Physical Fitness Medicines Safety and First Aid Dental Health and Healthy Living These 2.5 hour classes run once per week for 8 weeks. The classes rely heavily on discussion to help newcomers and emergent readers feel more confident reading labels, symbols and instructions on documents that they might see every day at home or in their community. This is a great beginner class for low level readers or ESL learners at CLB 3+ who do not need a full-time translator.
