About this service
Manchester Public School opened its doors in 1917 in response to continued growth in the town of Galt. J.L. Daniel, the schools first principal, served for 33 years after opening the school with 3 classrooms. During the war years it was reported that Manchester had grown to 8 classrooms with a Grade 7 class of 47 students along with a Grade 1 class of 52. Classes are somewhat smaller today! Manchester has been an active school with many notable events one of which was the very first Home and School Association in this area, beginning in 1941. Manchester School has enjoyed a rich history and we look forward to a long and prosperous future!
