Quinte Children's Treatment Centre (QCTC) provides Speech and Language Services, aiming to screen, assess, identify, and treat children with speech, language, voice, fluency, listening, and social communication concerns. Treatment approaches are parent-driven, emphasizing the role of caregivers as pivotal teachers in their child's speech and language development. The team consists of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Communication Disorder Assistants (CDAs) who work under the supervision of SLPs. Services can be accessed in various ways, including group sessions, all aimed at instructing parents and caregivers on promoting skills daily. Children can be referred by a parent/guardian or relevant institutions like schools or daycares. The referral cutoff is June 30 of the child's Junior Kindergarten year or when they turn 5.
