Counselling Services of Belleville and District's Family Court Clinic offers independent assessment of children and families involved in child welfare and youth criminal justice issues. The clinic's goal is to provide information to the referring judge, enhancing awareness and understanding of psychological and social issues related to the cases. Their assessments focus on identifying relevant needs and fostering recommendations that advocate for the best interests of the child/family. Besides these assessments, they often recommend referral to suitable local resources and clinical services. The services are available in Hastings and Prince Edward counties and are funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. They also run a Pilot Group named 'Caregiving through Connections' aimed towards women caregivers involved in child welfare. The group seeks to provide a safe, supportive space and tools to uplift the women's parental relationship and wellbeing.
