About this service
COVID-19 Update: Our office is closed to the public as of March 18th. All programs are suspended until April 7th, 2020. Our newest program is the Good Food Market which is a mini fresh fruit and vegetable market in which food is sold at wholesale cost. This program operates in seven "food deserts" in Hastings County. (A rural community is identified as a food desert when the closest grocery store is at least 5 km away). We are going into areas where the only store available for food is a local convenience store. As you can only imagine, the costs are astronomical and the food choices aren't sufficient to fulfill a healthy and nutritional diet. This program served almost 3,000 families last year!
