Belleville Animal Control, managed by the Pierce Animal Control Services, is a part of the City of Belleville's services responsible for the enforcement of animal control. The service allows residents to submit complaints and inquiries regarding animal control issues. Animal control officers are tasked with upholding the Animal Licensing and Control By-law, which holds owners accountable for their pets' actions, has the authority to return lost pets, patrol neighborhoods for stray animals, and ensure pets contribute positively to the community. Offending owners can be ticketed or charged. Restrictions include three dogs and ten cats per household. All dogs must be licensed annually, and exotic pets are prohibited. The Quinte Humane Society serves as the city's animal shelter.
