ADULT ANIMAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS

The Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward (HSHPE) provides adult animal education programs aimed at facilitating better relationships between humans and their pets. These programs offer insights about pet care, animal ownership, and first aid for animals, sometimes in collaboration with other service providers. HSHPE emphasizes hands-on learning experiences through in-person school and youth center visits, blog resources, public information campaigns, and community outreach programs. They also host an annual No Hot Pets Program to promote awareness about the dangers of leaving pets in cars during hot weather. Through their EmPEThy Pilot Program, they engage different participants, including at-risk youth, adults, seniors, and individuals with intellectual disabilities, to foster emotional and social skills using animal interactions.
