The North Hastings Public Library, which began operations in 1901, is the principal resource center in the North Hastings region. Despite accessibility challenges, it houses a wide array of resources and services across two floors and boasts the largest material collection in the region. The library additionally provides unique services, such as a hydration station and business aids such as full-color copying and email scanning. The institution is known for its environmentally conscious efforts, like the provincially recognized book bag initiative. Its competent and long-serving staff are another of its strengths, highlighted by Librarian Bev and Assistant Librarian Shirley, and CEO Kimberly McMunn, who have served the community for years. The library is continuously looking to improve and innovate, with upcoming new resources and programs being planned.
