About this organization

Our most northerly campus, Aurora Campus, is located on the traditional territory of Gwichin and Inuvialuit peoples in Inuvik. Two degrees above the Arctic Circle and on the banks of the mighty Mackenzie River, Inuvik is the gateway to the Mackenzie Delta, the largest freshwater delta in Canada. This is the land of the midnight sun and of permafrost; it attracts Arctic and climate change researchers from around the globe.

Inuvik features a variety of outdoor activities from walking and cross-country ski trails, to golfing, to a large indoor recreation centre featuring a swimming pool, racquetball courts, and hockey and curling arenas. Inuvik has an active artist community and features one of the northernmost community greenhouses in North America.
