About this service
The Supported Social Group Program creates an environment where youth on the autism spectrum (ages 18 and up) can meet and socialize. Each participant must have the support of a respite worker. The program will also be facilitated by the Program Coordinator. The group will have 3-5 members.
The Supported Social Group allows people to have the opportunity to make friends and engage in meaningful experiences. Each week will consist of different activities, as well as opportunities for socialization and skill building.
Social Group is "Bring Your Own Food". Participants are encouraged to bring their own dinner or snacks to Social Group. Autism Nova Scotia will be providing popcorn and water at each group. There will be a Pizza Party Night one night per term. Autism Nova Scotia will provide pizza for all participants on this night.
