About this organization

Waypoints, originally named St. Francis Foundation, was founded in 1978 as a group home for five males in St. Johns. The organization has grown over the years into a multi-service agency offering a number of programs to young people, families and the community at large. In 2004, the St. Francis Foundation received the Employer of Distinction Award from the Newfoundland and Labrador Employers Council for excellence in human resources management. The Waypoints name was chosen in 2007 to better reflect the organizations current programs and its vision for the future. Today, Waypoints is a vibrant organization operating out of several locations. Governed by a volunteer board of directors, Waypoints is a non-profit charitable organization funded primarily by the provincial government. It also looks to the corporate community for partnerships and funding to help with programming needs and growth.
