Upper Sackville United Church

The United Church of Canada is the largest Protestant denomination in Canada. We minister to over 2 million people in about 3,000 congregations. The history of the United Church is closely entwined with the history of Canada itself. United Church faith communities welcome people from all backgrounds and orientations. As Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, we have worked to more faithfully reflect who we are as a church. The church has learned and continues to learn from Indigenous wisdom and spiritual practices. We have apologized as a church for our broken relationship, and we have pledged to heal it through reconciliation.

Sunday Gatherings Sunday Gatherings provide the community with an opportunity to connect and deepen relationships with one another and the Divine. We open ourselves to the wisdom of ancient and modern texts, sing and hold the world in careful intention. Learn More Godly Play Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood and beyond. Learn More Community Engagement Located at the heart of Sackville we seek to bring love to all that we offer to the community. Members of Sackville United Church can be found serving at the Food Bank, volunteering in prison, visiting in hospitals, and serving on various groups and committees in the greater Sackville area. As we follow the Way of Jesus we seek to love our neighbours in all we do! And yes, we do love a good parade! Learn More Seekers Study Group Sackville United Church, as a progressive community of faith is always offering opportunities for learning and deeper reflection. The Seekers Study Group meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30AM to engage in dialogue and discernment as they explore a topic of current concern with an author's recent work. Learn More Pastoral Care Pastoral care is the act of coming alongside another in times of struggle and celebration. Our Minister is always ready to meet people where they find themselves and walk the journey with them.
