About this organization
Founded in 1987, AmiSoleil is a food bank that meets the basic needs of families and individuals residing in region 8 covered by the Caraquet agency of the Ministry of Social Development.
AmiSoleil also houses a clothing bank, a department store offering clothing for the whole family, shoes, and household items. All of the content in the store comes from donations made by people in the community. The items received are sorted and washed before being put on sale at a low price, by paid and volunteer staff. The proceeds from in-store sales finance the purchase of food for emergency boxes (for a period of three days).
