About this service
For many decades West Broadway residents, businesses, faith groups, and social service organizations have organized and worked together to address local housing issues. A rich history of activism and personal investment, West Broadway has seen many changes since WBCO incorporated in 1997, and local stakeholders continue to recognize the provision and maintenance of safe, affordable housing as a top neighbourhood priority. This is an ongoing struggle; maintaining an aging housing stock, encouraging infill development while ensuring a foothold for residents with modest incomes. With its walkable streets, proximity to schools, daycares, programs, transit routes, and countless amenities, there are few areas of Winnipeg that offer a higher standard of living for those with limited means.
