About this service
SmartStart is an injury prevention program specifically designed for immigrants, refugees and new Canadians. The program provides participants with a basic understanding of how to respond to emergencies and prevent injuries. Topics covered include basics in home safety, when and how to use 911, best practices in infant and child safety as well as thin ice, water, and road safety, with a particular focus on extreme weather risks in Canada.
