About this service
Inpatient Chronic Care units have clients with complex medical issues whose care needs cannot be met on Personal Care units. Clients require ongoing medical management and multidisciplinary intervention. Clients have chronic and/ or progressive medical conditions found in Personal Care but with the addition of tracheostomies, ostomy care, enteral and parenteral nutrition, complex wound care, blood transfusions and peripheral and central intravenous therapies.
Chronic Care units accept student placements for Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Health Care Aides and Health Unit Clerks.
Lodge 5 44 beds. This unit has 2 Temporary Acute Care Treatment (TACT) beds available for PCH residents.
Lodge 6 42 beds. This unit is equipped to provide peritoneal dialysis
Lodge 7 36 beds
