About this organization

Our Own Health Centre is the expansion of the former Gay Men's Health Clinic which was started by Dr. Dick Smith.

We have a long history of dedicated service to the community of Gay, Bisexual, and other men who have sex with men.

OOHC also is a registered charity. We use charitable funds to pay for rent, offer free counselling to our patients who cannot afford it, and to buy the expensive test kits so that we can offer free HIV testing to people at Pride and other events.

OUR MISSION

To improve the health and wellbeing of gay, bisexual, and other men who all have sex with men (MSM) in Manitoba.

We believe in the health of all men in Manitoba. We serve everybody but specialize in the care of men. No matter their sexuality.

While we offer medical care by physicians, we also promote healthy lifestyles and work with a fitness professional, counselors, a sexologist and a pharmacist for help with smoking cessation.
