YWCA Thomspon - Steps to Success

A free program for adults that offers help with the skills necessary to get into or keep going in todays workplace.

• Whether you want to read a bedtime story to your grandchildren, go to university, get a job or get a better job, the adult literacy programs will be of help.

• We can help you by teaching reading skills to enable you to read manuals at work. We also teach document use, so you can better fill out forms. We teach numeracy to help you improve everything from your money math to your kitchen math. We also teach writing skills to enable you to write letters, emails and memos. We teach oral communication to help you solve problems with words, provide better customer service and feel more comfortable speaking in public. We can also teach you how to work in a team or group setting.

• We provide a number of courses in chunks: basic computer skills, Microsoft Office software, essay writing, Learners Permit preparation, grammar, goal setting, dictionary use & mechanical reasoning.
