About this organization

The Swan Valley Health Centre will accept sharps from the community and outside agencies. Please follow the steps below to ensure sharps are safely secured for drop off.

1. Sharps must be secured in puncture proof containers such as approved biohazard containers, hard plastic laundry jugs, or pop bottles. Ensure the biohazard container is locked appropriately and bottle caps are tightened and reinforced with sturdy tape.

2. Place containers in a heavy cardboard box no larger than 16 x 18 inches and seal

with packing tape.

3. Clearly label the cardboard box with the following information:

a. Contents

b. Agency or individual dropping off sharps

c. Phone number

Sharps will be accepted at the Shipping and Receiving doors located at the back of the Swan Valley Health Centre, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am 4:00 pm (excluding holidays).Upon arrival please alert staff via the intercom. A staff member will escort you into the building and show you the drop off area.
