About this service
Service offers subscribers peace of mind, independence, early intervention in an emergency, and the reassurance that they are protected. Subscribers to the Lifeline service have a communicator in their homes, which is plugged into an existing phone line.
Each communicator contains a sensitive microphone and a speaker. When activated, the communicator rapidly links the subscriber to the Lifeline Response Centre that is manned 24 hours a day 7 days a week by trained response centre representatives. The representative talks to the subscriber to determine what level of assistance is required, and dispatches a responder to the home of the subscriber.
Lifeline subscribers wear a Personal Help Button. This is a small lightweight, waterproof button that can be worn as a pendant or on the wrist. A signal from this button activates the communicator so that if the subscriber has fallen or is unable to reach the communicator, help can be dispatched.
