About this organization

The Manitoba Farm & Rural Support Services (MFRSS) provides telephone and on-line counselling & support to farmers, rural and northern Manitobans. We also offer public education, a volunteer training program, the Farmer-to-Farmer Information & Support Group, and a Suicide Bereavement Support group.

The MFRSS hosts a Rural Resource Centre with books, videos and articles related to agricultural behavioural health. MFRSS is a program of Klinic Community Health Centre - accredited crisis centre with the American Association for Suicidology (AAS) and is a member of the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (www.suicideprevention.ca).

MFRSS staff are professional counsellors with farming backgrounds and strong rural identities. All staff are Certified Crisis Workers with the AAS. Staff and trained volunteer counsellors work together to provide much needed support to callers on the MFRSS, Klinic Crisis Line, and the Manitoba Suicide Line.
