About this service
Food Security Program
The Missions Food Security Program (FSP) is a program that helps supplement the diets of individuals and families in need. The people that access our program are at risk due to low-income, chronic illness, mental illness, disability, addiction, homelessness, and/or school-aged. The FSP provides food and nutrition assistance at no cost, and people do not need to register to access our services, which makes our program unique and accessible in Vernon.
Healthy Snack Program
Through our Food Security Program, we also run a very special program, dedicated specifically to our communitys children and youth.The Missions Healthy Snack Program helps feed over 400 hungry school-aged children in our school district.The goal is to provide nutritious food items so students are able to make healthy food choices, have increased concentration throughout the day, boost their mental performance, as well as assist them in maintaining a healthy weight.
